My friend. You have crafted a piece that lifts the spirit beyond the melancholy of the every day hum drum life. You have painted the skies with every color of a dream and left the clouds floating in the in between. In light where first we encounter night, we are born of the dreams of our souls. We have come to share what things we wish others too to bare. We have seen the things unseen, where darkness keep it's vale, but we pierce the void and fly into the sky, to see dreams of rainbow hues.

Oh it waits here for now. Sometimes I have to let other ideas filter in from other places and patch them together like a quilt. You are very welcome.

I do the same. But, I compile pages and pages of ideas, which I keep and scan for inspiration. Most of my poems are crafted much later from the musings in my journal. That's how "Ra'qedyet" came about. I made some notes while watching the History Channel, then, weeks later, I started researching, trying to find out about Ra'qedyet, which completely changed the direction I expected the poem to take: I thought it was going to be about Alexandria and the lighthouse on Pharos. Something similar happened from "Walking;" except that the notes from it were set down over the course of years before I could actually pen the poem. "I Remember" was inspired two years ago on a trip to the OBX for Nowruz.

Most of my poems I write as inspiration strikes. I usually carry a pen or pencil and a scrap of paper to scrawl on if I get a hint of an idea. In that case a poem might take many years before I come back to it and start to scribe it out of my mind. But in the moment, on a screen, or a full page, I write till the flow stops.

I do something similar. I carry notebook/journal with me and jot down little moments of inspiration. But, a lot of writing just flows from beginning to end, complete.

Thank you. Y'know, I've been writing poetry all my life. I used to joke about wallowing in maudlin reflection and writing bad poetry. I never shared my poetry because I didn't think it was any good. But, this forum has really given me confidence in my words, in my composition.
