The things that make great poets, writers and actors are the most damnable things this life can throw at us at times. From that pile of utter s**t comes words that rise up and tell a story of strength and understanding, a poultice for those who can identify and shelter for those still experiencing. Keep; pushing those words out of the shitpile...you are awesome. Great feeling to that pic by the way, it tells a thousand stories itself.

Thanks for your compliment on my photo. I'm deeply drawn to such abandoned spaces. I especially like the abandoned rural places for the dichotomy of the decay of man's artifice being reclaimed by nature.
I like the IMPACT font used here, MozmillaNC. It''s a real attention grabber.
Being an suffocating, overprotective parent is not an uncommon phenomenon, yet it still doesn't allow the child to grow, or to make their own decisions, good and bad. What it frequently does is leaves them open and vulnerable to the things they'll experience once the get their feet wet and their paws dirty in the "real world".
Nicely done, 'M'...

From the interesting perspective of your review, I would guess you to have been an gentle and loving dad. Certainly, I can see that your interpretation could be equally true.
The "suffocating" in this poem is a reference to the sensation of crying, while being beaten, until I was choking, suffocating from the asthma attacks those beatings often brought on. My childhood may have been in the Sunshine State, but the sun never touched my childhood. Thanks, again.

OUCH this one hurts...the format really adds to make it even more profound, by the time that last line hits you, you're a goner!

She actually dragged herself back to sanity when she finally went to college, and began studying psychology as part of her degree in rehab education.

And the damage spun out by those folks trapped in that "ravaged hell" with those sufferers is the real tragedy of human existence. My mother wanted babies. She wanted to be a loving and happy mother with happy, well-adjusted children. She tried so hard before that break down. She completely lost that person in that institution.. A monster came home to us.

The system is broken in so many ways, you go in seeking help, and you come out ten times crazier.
