Sweet Addiction

Sweet Addiction

A Poem by MomzillaNC
"

For all us morning zombies… the cure is coffee!

"

Steam rising and dancing

Across the rippling midnight pool

The welcome caress of vapors

Sensual and inviting,

The warming embrace of aroma

Now flooding ethereal white

Swirling deep to rise

Till clink, tink, clank, chink

The pool now renders

A devine decoction

That distillation of welcoming dawn

Smooth and rich and just right sweet

Porcelain vessel of joy

I didn't know what to call this one. Thanks to my best friend, who's also a writer (a novelist) I now have the perfect title! When I saw it written in her message, it hit me like a bolt of lightning!

Okay, now I'm awake. : )

The steam rising and then falling. Yes, caffeine is needed it seems, to begin the day.
You paint such vivid images with your words. This is so beautifully written and presented.

There is something about being in water with the object of one's affection. A sensuous write to be sure:)

Thanks so much. Sometimes, I think if you cut me, I'll bleed coffee!
As someone, who is caffeine-free (food allergy), for almost 24 years, Often, I wonder, how the world would survive, without it. Preferring, to have my body wake up, in a gradual manner. Never understood, how anyone wants to drink this bitter drink. Oh well. I hope you, enjoy your morning fix, Momzilla.

My cup is certainly a porcelain vessel of joy. For sure! No one can describe the exquisite experience of imbibing a cup of Joe like a lover of the brew. I love "The welcome caress of vapors..."

There are only two kinds of coffee. No coffee. And not enough coffee. Porcelain vessel of joy? No, indeed, Porcelain vessel of existence!

Ha perfect, poetry and coffee, my morning addictions that needs no cure. I'd take it intravenously if I could.

Hahahaha, there's nothing like coffee in the morning. And I do love the title she'd advised. Coffee is a sweet addiction all right
