Heaven's Comedian

Heaven's Comedian

A Poem by MomzillaNC
"

I wrote this the right after Robin William's death. It precedes "Laugh Clown… Laugh," which I feel is the better poem. RIP Robin Williams: 21 July 1951 - 11 August 2014

"

Bangarang and nanu-nanu…

He made us laugh…

He made us cry…

He made us think anew…

Healed us with his humor,

Entertained us through his pain,

Bravely stood before us, always true.

Laughing beyond the tears…

He touched our hearts.

Thoughtful and thought provoking to our view…

He Challenged our preconceptions…

Educated our new directions.

In his life, no peace he knew.

Has he found his peace at last?

A genuine soul laid bare for all to see…

Heart… Soul… Talent… shining through…

So big he couldn’t hold it back.

He had to share to show he cared.

As every mother a son would imbue…

He made the world a better place…

Bringing laughter and joy to everyone.

Pray his soul is free, though we are blue.

Shed “…a tear for every happy thought…”

A world too small to hold him bound…

Gone now to make God laugh anew.

Bangarang and nanu-nanu…

A few quotes from Robin Williams that inspired my prose.
“Carpe. Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.”

“To live. To live would be an awfully big adventure.”

“He'll crow. He'll fight. He'll fly. And then... he'll die.”

“…make a wish, and think of me. Make your life spectacular.”

“…second star to the right and straight on till morning.”

“…a tear for every happy thought.”

“But oh, to be free… Such a thing would be greater
than all the magic and all the treasures in all the world…”

“You’re only given one little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.”

“But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for”

“But only in their dreams can men be truly free. It was always thus and always thus will be.”

“Thank you...for gracing my life with your lovely presence,
for adding the sweet measure of your soul to my existence.”

A whole human life is just a heartbeat here in Heaven. Then we'll all be together forever.”

“Though lovers be lost, love shall not .. And death shall have no dominion”

“O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,”

“O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;”

“My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,”

"Real loss is only possible when you love something more than you love yourself.”

"Well, He broke the mold when He made me. He made me very special.”

“I believe in destiny. There must be a reason that I am as I am. There must be.”

“All the restless hearts of the world, all trying to find a way home.”

Love this Momzilla, I think the big guy upstairs was bored, and needed a a few grand guffaws, yep. He affected so many of us, love that you included his quotes too, my favorite has always been the one about not losing your spark of madness, indeed!

Thank you very much.
this is a lovely tribute to Robin Williams.. I love the examples you started out with and the parts of his life you decided to spotlight... I will say, the flow felt a little off and some of the rhymes did feel a little forced.. also.. I am struggling over her to read the quotes.. they (at least on my screen) are wayy to small to see without my face to the screen and squinting.. I am so not a technical writer, am just learning myself, but maybe if you broke the poem into stanzas it would help the flow, not really sure.. overall, loved the content and the message...

A lovely tribute to a great actor who is sadly missed, madness and genius are such entwined neighbours...
