Joker

Joker

A Poem by the penumbra
"

A real life Joker.

"
A painful smile
Like an up-curved tear
I wonder how that would feel.

A tear curved up to make
A joker's grin
Twisted and sick
But full of innocence.

Hidden under a mask
Showing no emotion
Except a reckless laughter
That echoes and fills
The silence.

No weakness visible
The painful smile staying
In place
Blocking the memories of
A childhood so terrible.

On the bridge of insanity
Kissing danger
They've been friends forever
A crystalline soul buried
So deep.

Unearthing the truth
In a grave
Under a small life
Following the path
Of a single tear trying
To be a grin...
