Examining the blood splatters some more, I was able to find that it was possible the whole thing began in the bathroom that was part of the bedroom.  The bathroom, itself seems completely untouched.  There were, however, droplets of blood that worsened as they led out of the bathroom.

        One of the forensics guys called me about possible fingerprint found in various places in the room.  All the prints turned up blank, as if the fingerprints themselves were removed by some means.  He assured me that the suspect was not wearing gloves as folds and creases of the skin turned up.

        What  can I make of this?  Whoever did this has gone to quite some length to hide their identity.
