I never

I never

A Poem by RFDIII
"

My first love was a short encounter of failures and missteps.

"

I never loved, the way you love me,
I never loved, the way you cared,
I never loved, the way you haunt me,
I never loved, the way which you stared.

I never loved, the ways which I want.
I never wanted to beseech
our end.
You never wanted, to hear my heart-break,
You never wanted to destroy a friend.

I never wanted, to break the silence,
I never needed crutch or cane
to stand.
I never needed,
these knuckles grind us,
I never needed blood, gold, or the sand.

I never
needed love!
I never cared.
I never lusted, hoped, bereaved or despaired.
And then I met
you.
All walls lay felled.
Projectiles entered, ricocheted
wreaking hell.

I never wanted to love.
-
I built the walls for a reason.
But I surmise a fool
only
needs to lose once.

The worst is I never missed you...
After a very short while.

A very good poem. Most of us had wasted love and wished we were kinder. I like the story in the poem. Some people touch our life lightly and we can forget the kindness given. Thank you for the excellent poem.
