Up

A Poem by RFDIII
"

An old throwback to a poem I wrote named Down. I thought it was time to move past it.

"

I love this hour of the night.
The point where I desire sleep
and these bones beg for rest,
Yet I pray tomorrow shall only
provide
cascades of repetition.
Repetition I need,
as it succinctly charts my path,
ever reminding me that a life is
where you have been.
And I have been climbing.

Climbing,
avoiding idle daydreams,
soliloquys,
regrets and memories,
I find myself
rising incessantly
though no footholds
delve down.
I have learned how to fly,
and I have ceased the fall.

I
 find myself
rising incessantly
with no footholds
at all.

Sometimes you have to flip the script and give yourself a new start before you can move forward. :)
