So we say, today of days, Don't waste your time on thought. All we need are books and money and that which money bought.
Potential has an odd way of breaking through these cracks. Enshrouding, Crowding, even avowwing to all which suc-cess lacks. But I say, today of days, there is potential turned stark.
While some flowers do bloom in daylight, still most survive in dark.
A good piece of reflection
you seemed to look at this from different views
and give your reader much to muse on
cryptic, yes, but cryptic causes questions and thoughts
and perhaps answers and perhaps not
but this is written in full poetic measure
and the last stanza gives it not a conclusion
but a beginning of another round of thought
well done
I really love this one. As you know, I'm not much of a poetry person generally speaking, but I like this one a lot, especially the last few lines. (You also picked the PERFECT picture for those lines.)
I can't say I fully understand the middle stanza, but the first and last ones speak to me. For the first, the focus on books and money is powerful probably because I share your focus on those two things, albeit from a different perspective. And as for the last stanza, I just like the message…it's quite different from a lot of your poetry, although there is often a common theme of "holding on" that I can still see here.
Book and money are a part of life. Best to find some pleasure during the long journey. I like the way you make your point in the poem.
"While
some flowers do bloom in daylight,
still most survive in dark."
I enjoyed this poem. Direct and honest words. Thank you for the excellent poem.
