An Apology to Somebody, Somewhere

An Apology to Somebody, Somewhere

An Apology to Somebody, Somewhere

The sun shall fall,
once and for all.
White flames rain down 'pon the earth.
I've never been one to be sorry.
I've never been one to stir mirth.
But my eyes see pyres,
of pain and of fire,
And soot, drowning day into night.
And all of it comes,
by the flick of a thumb,
The choice to pick wrong over right.
The stars stare down on me.
Down, lamenting
their gaze.
The stars stare down on me;
On me and all things
that I've razed.
But what have I accomplished now?
What is this weight which finds way to my brow?
I digress, however. This is no ode to old wounds.

A mother, brother, and lover, all scorned!
And what were their crimes toward me?
Of Knowing? Of showing,
Love, hope or affection?
Their sentence, exile to sea.
The truth is that I don't mind.
But I do feel they
deserve better.

So in apology, to somebody, somewhere, I've hurt,
May your lifetime be fertile;
your heart bound by mirth.

A very nice poem. Good to give hope to someone somewhere. Words of apology is needed to be heard. Even late is better then never.
"A mother, brother, and lover, all scorned!
And what were their crimes toward me?'
Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
