A Poem by Molly Cara

All day I have wanted to curl myself around you like a vine around a tree

And shield you with my ivy from all

Your most articulate fears

It’s raining white petals

Who think that they’re snow

And I’m no different to think I’m

The kind of whimsical sylph who can sustain

A boy in his fantasy for more than a day

If I rested a snowflake on your hand in April

Would it melt or flutter groundward?
