A Poem by Molly Cara

You said, “I think they’ve got us wrong,”

We were out on the hill and we agreed that

One of these days they’ll divide up the sky

Like land to own what they can’t touch.

Someone follows me on the street now

And I think maybe he wants to touch what he

Can’t own.

I cross the street and my pursuer pursues

Till I scurry down the rocky hill; he gives up and

Goes back the way he came.

...

Living the Bohemian lifestyle, I am at the bookshop

Curled up right in front of the Professional Computing section,

And I swear that there’s an old and scholarly man in the corner

Constructing the Third Great Temple with children’s blocks.

You said “I think they’ve got us wrong,” but see, they haven't

Got us at all.

Perfectyl simple and without the over active wording we often find in prose such a these, well done, good read.
