Diver

Diver

A Poem by Molly Cara

Last night I dreamt of a diver, diving
to drown her last life on this earth. She shot
up through the air like a pistol, then down
head first into the pool, where she would stay.
I awoke without breath and without rest,
staring through the surface of my quilts to
the water’s martyr, buried in aqua.
