February 9, 2013A Poem by Molly Cara
I live between solitude and gratitude
because I cannot endure either. I dart like light off the surface of a planet. I want you for want of myself. I tout my values in poems, using delicate language on even the most rugged of subjects. And in the heat of the winter storm, I think of spring. I imagine the walks I’ll take. Meanwhile, sun pools into your footprints as you leave them in the snow. If I’m like the sea at all, it’s because I move in crosscurrents, one day in languor, the next in anger. This poem may be longer than my life, our lives, these aleatory stories we solder together. If I’m like the sea at all it’s because it’s hard for the sea to forgive the river her sins. © 2013 Molly CaraReviews
