I want to be your last loveA Poem by MollyA poem of an inseparable love
I don’t want to be your first,
That time has come and gone. I want to be your last, To love you when you're worn, To hold your hand when time is thin, When days grow quiet and shadows dim. I want to be the one who knows Your every scar, your highs, your lows. To love you fully as you are, The fading light, and brightest star. I want to be your last love, The final kiss upon your brow. To be the warmth that holds you close, The peace you carry here and now. I'll be your whispered words at night, The voice you hear when dreams take flight. When morning comes, and we awake, I’ll be your dawn, for love’s own sake. We’ll share the silence, slow and deep, And cherish secrets that we keep. For you and I, we’ll build a world Where time can’t shake, and days unfurl. I want to be your constant touch, The one you miss so awfully much, That even when I’m not around, My love’s the space that you have found. And when I'm gone and sadness holds Your weight of life will turn to dust, within 30 days of my being home, Your body too will fade to rust. For a love like ours can’t bear to part, It needs two souls, two beating hearts. Without my arms to hold you tight, Your soul would wander, lost in night. I’ll be the echo in your breath, The one who walks with you through death. Your last embrace, your final sigh, The reason you don’t say goodbye. When our years together start to dim, I’ll be the hymn you hum within. We’ll carry on, no need for tears, Through quiet nights and fading years. I want to be your end and start, The one who owns the other part. For if you go, I’ll follow too, A love this deep knows no one true. We’ll drift as one, where souls combine, Where nothing breaks, and all’s divine. Into the still, eternal light, We'll walk together, beyond sight. For love like this, it never dies, It only moves through sacred skies. And when we’re gone, what will remain Is love’s sweet echo, without pain. A final kiss, a whispered vow, I want to be your always, now. © 2024 MollyAuthor's Note
