Long distance hurts

Birds

As they sing their tune

Nary a care in the world

I sit and listen, oh the wonders of their song

From the American robin to the summer tanager

The birds have one thing in common

They put me to rest, like a sleep inducing toxin

But it’s not the birds that bring me comfort or joy

It is you on the phone call who put your phone on your windowsill for me to listen

To the vocalists of nature

That puts me to sleep
