A Sinister Illusion She Was

A Sinister Illusion She Was

A Poem by XxxModifyTheMassesxxX

Just when I thought I knew who you were for years, I was highly mistaken.
Your words have become as fake as you, thank god I'm already broken.
Labeled as a healer you've become the arsonist.
Set fire to me and watch as I slowly diminish.
The final hour ticking to the finish
Of it all.

Was I just another fool in your guild of the wretched.
Distraught by false perfection,
I put down walls.
Built for years and dropped by one blow.
How could I not see through?
Who did I love?

Why me out of many?
(I'd kill to be held by you)
I wish I could take it all back.
(Longing for a reason here)
It's dead, said and done.
(Where were you really?)

So many roads left untaken and yours seemed so graceful.
Come to find that my two feet have walked this line before.

Was I just another fool in your guild of the wretched.
Distraught by false perfection,
I put down walls.
Built for years and dropped by one blow.
How could I not see through?
Who did I love?

seriously. i love your writing style. was this originally meant to be lyrics or something? i like it. again your wordplay is on point. but no offence it feels like you wrote about this subject before. switch it up a bit. you definitely got the talent and tools to do so. apart from that an excellent read bro! well done!
