A Poem by modtoddinc
"

A work in progress of collective conscious current events.

"
Listen, as a raindrop from my eye falls silently into our collective sorrow.
Do not think of us, or them.
We are not the clouds of pollution far above the sky, nor the dirt beneath each soul's coffin. We are not emaciated polar bear opposites at war, or shock stick guns looking for prisoners to elect, appoint and murder.
We are the kings and queens of R. Williams The Hood.
Given to one another through the laws of deep belly laughter;
These are ripened olives and grapes, hanging from the branches of our own personal experience.
No ransom or escape from this sacred place excuses the robbery happening in progress; the great heist of our deepest feelings.
Who then is this blind man on the curb? Begging us to keep extending arms more blatantly,
Demanding everyday that we reach through endless tunnels of debauchery and disease for some carrot of freedom.
It's all taking place in a giant lab... where we're told we're protected from each side, but then watched like a clock from the tower for any explosions of theory, which may then start to run through our blood streams and across the imaginary border.
The fleeing people of refuge takers, with their masks and thunder tongues.
There's a thin line between the men and women with gold and those who idolize worship wars with holy-filled pockets.
The Earth as one must seek to evolve.
The world people revolution that never looks directly at one form over another;
For atoms cannot erase atoms from existence, they can only change form and participate again.

This piece has such a mystery to it
and i totally adore that

Within so many cities exits dignitaries unknown to the public
and within those boundaries many people cross over with ill intention to harm and destroy the work of those who gave up so much to create something beautiful

The battle is silent
and often unseen
eventually good will always win

no evil deed survives

A fantastic piece of writing that has been expressed in a very metaphorical way.
I especially like the opening like:

raindrop from my eye falls silently

the raindrop as a metaphor for a tear is such an obvious but rare concept, more so thought, the word silently is thought provoking and antithetical since tears fall silently yet the rain comes with a variety of sounds.

Also:

ripened olives and grapes, hanging from the branches of our own personal experience

I think this too is a piercing image that comes across really well.

A nice read!

This is a gripping piece that shows concern for the state of our world ecologically. It is an important subject but I think there is an undercurrent of something else...something dark. Message coming. take care...dan
