I will miss David Letterman. I haven't watched him in a few years, but I watched the final show and wept. As many of my poems are written this is in the moment of NOW.
Dear Dave,
I love you.
For all you have ever been and all you accomplished
Oh man! This is where I found out, he passed away! The David Letterman is no more! I remember his quick wit, his tongue in cheek, his high sense of humour, visible in every episode that I have ever seen. Thanks for giving this tribute, he must be smiling up there.
This is a very lovely tribute. I've honestly never watched the show, like ever, but I know a lot of people enjoyed it and were sad about his departure.
Hi Todd. Yay!!!! I was a Letterman fan, so this got me right where it ought to!!! Loved what you did with this piece. the king is gone . . . there is no replacement, alf
Fair play to you Todd. Inspiration in Life comes from many different people, places, music, writing and things. It is a good thing to be lifted on the shoulders of giants - if even for an hour or so and feel life's burdens lifted.
This is a wonderful trib.
"world wide pants, eh?" - is that his catchphrase? Im Irish and Letterman isnt available ordinarily, here (well it probably is at some ungodly hour, lol)
Awesome tribute piece... awesome song to go along with it... fits perfect plus I love Foo Fighters. Damn Dave Grohl looks super young in this video. Got to watch this one and the one from last night. Good piece Todd :)
Todd, I watched last night also, there wasn't a dry eye in the house (well, my wife's were but she was sleeping). I actually used to watch him when his show was on in THE MORNING. Just say the morning audience was not the right medium for his special brand of humor. Do you remember when he used to go up on the roof and toss stuff over the edge? TVs, watermelons...anything that would make a big SPLASH..or go to the window and call to people on the street, "I'm not wearing any PANTS!" For all of the people like me with an off-the-wall (for a double) sense of humor Dave was a Godsend. He will be dearly missed. Like he said last night, "Now when I screw up I have to go on someone else's show to apologize." A true legendary comic and host. Nice tribute! take care...dan
I write what I feel with honesty, and integrity. I love art in all it's forms, especially poetry and multi-media. I love to read, watch movies, play music, and study comparative mythology. I hope to o.. more..
