Equal is the night, my dear

Travels through winters near,

The rain to turn; warm the sun

Glistens through; your teardrop won 

Bluebird on my shoulder;

A time before I wandered,

Love’s true innocence

A swallow; tales pondered 

The art of mother earth, my dear

These seedlings giving birth

Daffodils and p***y willow,

Tulips of our worth 

Bluebird on my shoulder;

Sing with me today, my dear

Present to this gift

Green so sweet and colorful

Todd, I like how you switch between free verse in some writes and rhyming verse in others. I do that myself, some ideas lend themselves to rhyme moreso than others. What I DO look for when someone chooses to rhyme is this: is the rhyming sequence flowing naturally, or is it in fact forced? And I'm certain you know what I mean when I say that. Your rhymes always have a nice, even flow to them. The poem itself is beautiful, just so beautiful. I'm quickly morphing from one of your friends on WC to a big fan (and STILL friend); the writing style you've seemed to settle into (and I don't mean that in a stagnating way) fits you like a glove and you wear it well. Your style is both very diverse and very consistent at the same time. Fine writing, my friend! take care...dan

Dan, your review is reciprocated my friend. It is interesting you mention writing style because I have often wondered if a) I have a distinct style, and b) if I will settle into one. I am extremely eclectic in the art I like and enjoy and love to find art within art and create something new, most often in a multi-media type of format... I dream of writing a book, either fiction or poetry where the reader can listen and watch as they read... but I diverse, I want you to know that I feel similarly about our connection, I enjoy your writing, your reviews and comments; I am a fan of you as well. :)
