DarknessA Poem by modtoddincPoe inspired
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
a darkness surrounded my temple of wonder, As my grieving heart has given to plunder. I steal away every joy and wish for others, with a whip between my lips, lashing out and silencing innocence. Console me not, for I'd rather rot than feel the warmth of ten thousand suns, Any kindness offered can only be killed as I pour from this quaffer, and drown my sorrows deep. Weep weep weep, Never never sleep, Dreams cannot be called such when these screams and sweat ravish me so much, I am destined to darkness and the underbelly of society; poor, drunk and forgotten, I am truly rotten. Maggots one and all! Anger is my only survival, and yet she comes in spurts of bloody rage and cannot possibly be revival. The loss of love and means has taken what it deems, and I sit here waiting in silence for the reapers fierce abating, Waiting... Hating... Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, I became filled with only darkness. © 2015 modtoddincReviews
