The sigh of midnight...

The sigh of midnight...

A Poem by Ana B.

You can have those laughs I put aside…just for you

While humming odes to the sun…

Closed eyes. I can still smell all those shades of blue

Yet when I blink again….they’re gone

         and I’m undone.

Don’t turn on the lights,

I like to paint those stories in the dark.

Those stories that life somehow rewrites

But not without leaving an inevitable mark…

Does a moment get to define a lifetime?

And how do I free the star trapped in me?

A favorite darkness of my own choice and design

Where eternal resplendence should never cease to be.

This is splendid, very well written, and infused with beauty and light. Your word choices and breaks are such that it seems unplanned, but I can see the pains of construction behind it. I very much love this.

Well, that is a limitless Universe in itself...
There's something - no matter its shape - that leaves thoughts here that, i think, have more meaning than thought as i read the first two lines. More of you, your Self, exposed? Perhaps. Dark nights seem to hold secrets exhaled unknown, thoughts that exist but don't have life of their own. Maybe? Your writing here has both sides of a coin.. toss it where you want, it'll perhaps always land where not wanted. The finest of phrasing, words laid carefully yet.. with mystery. Perhaps to be used however the reader feels or wants it to feel. Maybe return to learn more from your post rather than my interpretation of your thoughts. Such beautiful music, piano.. but then, of course.

that star inside you shines thru in your writes in golden hues they shimmer from the ink and those moments never define us they are guideposts to new journeys, warnings and perhaps mournings but never do they have to remain static.... that is up to you nice sentiment scrawls in here

Thank you for the wonderful words, Robert! :)
many moments make up a lifetime...but if we hide from the light...it will never fill us with its beauty.
Each has a star within...those who are not afraid to let it shine will have many good moments...
so good to read you again,
