I love the way this artwork goes with your topsy-turvy message. I love the way things are upside down in your artwork (stars below ocean?) I remember never feeling I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, and the whole time, my life was going by pretty quickly. Your poem gives the rushed breathless sensation of how this can feel. The good news is that life often brings great things even when we are clueless what we're looking for! *smile* Fondly, Margie

memorizing the lines of life, only to eventually forget them.
this poem is about just feeling life...the good, the bad, the ugly of it...the hell on earth, the confusion of it all...and that question of why so many tend to "worship the essence of all that is cold"--
i have reached a point in life where it is easy to relate to this piece...questions never answered, so much uncertainty of where i have been and where i am now..and has life been a success or just an existence.

Thank you for the beautiful, sad and lived through words, Jacob.
There are stylistic issues I am not a huge fan of but the essence of this is quite beautiful... in an "ugly" way, a truthful way.
No one remembers the lines, or maybe no one ever knew the lines... either way, that's the essence of life - unaware but searching. (being self aware is usually painful anyway)
Well done AnaBee

Maybe pain is just a boundary between life as we perceive it, and the objective life, as it really is. Anyways, i think self awareness is something a healthy, rational mind should aspire to, yet pain is holding us back....i'm still exploring this idea.
Thank you for stopping by, David ;)

There were a few times when my life was in question under extreme duress, I remember all of them vividly. And that's when I truly found myself and became self aware... during and immediately after those moments. Maybe, 10 minutes all together total... but in those brief moments, when everything else was stripped away, I was pure darkness coupled with amoral viciousness. I really wish I didn't know that about myself; it affects me to this day. Self awareness can be irreversibly destabilizing.

It's always boring these days. But anyway, I really am glad I came across this again.
There's something definitely wrong with the world we inhabit. Or I suppose it's the fact of us forgetting our lines with the roles we've got to play which hardens the deal of life. ..
This poses questions to which we all have been seeking answers to, to no avail yet, sadly.
Nice reading you after a long time, Ana. :)
