Bountiful bewilderment

Bountiful bewilderment

A Poem by Ana B.

It’s hard to see the rhyme in life.

The beauty of stillness, the night’s gentle sigh.

But storms have to exhale as well…

As I contemplate my handmade hell,

Do I even want to escape?

Something’s wrong with this world.

Dipped in the abstruse sapphire

We worship the essence of all that is cold,

Somehow adding fuel to the never ending fire.

The darker the shadow, the brighter the light, I know.

Still can’t connect with the eternity’s flow

Endless directions, yet nowhere to go

I wish I knew what I want, and yet, I DON’T KNOW.

In the spinning emptiness that awaits

Nothing is there; just a phantom, that culminates

The ashes of past, the fire of now,

The smoke of the future - unbreakable vow.

And every other dusk, I question

The vagary of this controlled

And merciless reflection

In which I somehow asked for a role

And now I refuse to play.

How could I, when I forgot the lines?

Thank you Anurag :)
How deep can you go? What depths can you sink to when trying to ascertain what it's all about? Where there is darkness there will be light, that is what I always tell myself when I have lost all purpose and meaning. Limbo land and emptiness you paint very well with your fine lines Ana.

Thank you my dear :)
Life can become extremely overwhelming, and it is our job to mitigate the obstacles it throws our way.

This write poetically conveys your obsevations of impediments that block your path in life. It also reminds me, that as self-doubt concerning personal abilities increases, global self-esteem tends to decrease because self-doubt presents the threat to global evaluations of the individual.

Great share – really got my ‘little grey cells’ buzzing - :-)

An emotive, challenging, yet soothing piece, this is. Poetic flourishes, next to existentially modern enigmas. This is well forged.

A very emotive write. "handmade hell", such an apt description, of describing how unique, difficult or dark situation is. Another one I can relate to - "merciless reflection".....reminds me of the apt metaphor of the windmills of our minds, forever turning, and churning our perceptions of what life is, and where we're at.

Great poetry.

Upside down, in and out and round about a billion times. For some reasons thoughts of the Cheshire cat's smile and trembling whiskers coming and going at different times, come to mind! You've created or maybe found a world of your own, no agenda but a held breath now and again, a shrug then, a gentle jump into the unknown. All written with such fine phrasing, each stanza with a mind of its own.. perhaps warm, perhaps chilly ; whichever, the climate gently dictates the motion.. or should this be the norm..
