A Poem by Ana B.

The blues are bluer than ever.

Sunshine melting over heads

As I am stuck in my forever

Dressed in the blue fire’s shreds.

The things we tell ourselves

To drown beliefs,

Evade those stares…

As darkness grieves.

So far from the start

But I still pace within,

Changing the lock to the heart

So the mind could not get in

As I dreamwalk through life.

wow! ... such way you have in this tapestry of words too honest

'Changing the lock to the heart
So the mind could not get in'

difficult but not undoable ... ask warriors

Thank you for the beautiful words, Keith :)
not sure what to say .. powerful .. plays to the dynamics of our human dichotomy .. tears me .. read it several times .. killer closing verse and line says i! ... i sit here after reading several times and my breath feels sucked out of me .. what to listen to?? the mind or the heart .. a huge question eclipsing long time... long time ... is it the "heart" that feels .. or the "mind that tells it to???? i think this poem captures an apex of the dilemma ... i like the way your words go ma'am!

Beautifully written....

We think that it's mind over matter.....just ignore that silly heart, right? Guess it can go both ways....the heart can also be foolish, and overrule sound advice from the mind.....

This made me wonder what the significance of the title was. Not that there even needs to be any!

Refreshing insight. The last stanza is pure genius. Not overthinking is my take away from this poem. Letting the heart guide through life while the mind glides along. Wonderful poem, well done. :)

Thank you Daniel :)
That last stanza; done that. I thank God for righteous anger and for Beethoven's 9th.

I love the imagery of the first stanza and the abstract feelings darkness can portray in the second. Not every poetic work can end on a good note, but I thought it was great piece. CD

Wonderful picture... clever... appropriate because it has that neither and both - just as your words appear to say. You want, you don't,, you need feel but will it hurt.. do you flourish or fade? Who's to know if- in locking out love, one wins or loses.. There's only one way to find out..
