Minor

Minor

A Poem by Ana B.

Was I the first one to open this book?

Looking for infinity…

I saw the Nightfall’s dreary look -

the everpresent, tired divinity

The weight of sunshine is a heavy thing,

Continuous pressure on the ribcage.

A meager dot in this never ending string

is our time to perform on this stage…

In this grey life,grey town

You’re so blue - the other shore,

A singular peak for my typical down

Making me ignore

                   what was before

                                 as I adore

                                     the promise of more

A floral smell, yet bitter taste

Have these lovely songs

That keep playing with no haste

The beautiful notes of my ‘’wrongs’’

Reminding: its the world and me - an incandescent duet.

Again you are very welcome:)
I see the beautiful scar of an axed tree trunk: the passing of time, the darkness of this and that happening. You use words as if born with them, describe emotions most don't even feel... happiness almost too much to bear, but the need to experience whatever's in offer, prepared to share.

Enjoyed the rhythm. It almost felt like a tumbling down.

Fav part

"the everpresent, tired divinity"

Great phrase.

This piece also does a great job of engaging the tactile...it contrasts well...sunshine, ribcages, floral scents and bitter tongues...

Lots to chew on.

This stanza read like a punch to the gut. Strong, swift, and not without meaning. Strong write, Ana. Beautiful.

Thank you :)
Interesting word choices, and the tattoo in the picture looks very artistic! My favourite lines would be - "In this grey life, grey town
You’re so blue - the other shore"
The weight of sunshine, of being the cheerful one always, can indeed be heavy sometimes.

Thank you very much :-)
Side b**b! Not nearly as distracting as your words, though.

Sunlight can carry a burden. Weighing down our hidden smiles. Butterflies keeping us from dancing on the stage. Their attracted to floral smells, and dance on the bitter.....staying for the songs...

Enjoyed your poem. Thanks for sharing.
