A Poem by Ana B.

I dropped the Conscience while I was fleeing

The Celestial Temple of Cogitation.

Mind has done enough sightseeing

Of the silent Anarchy’s gestation…

Its coordinates has many doorways

And yet folks stay clear out of the Mud

But oh, the precious Humanity has always

Had its tree roots soaked in blood.

Thank you Roxane :)
sometimes the only way to survive in this world is to lose concsience.....but some can't and get buried under the roots....but poets have such consciences that they seem unable to ignore the blood---and we write about it in a steady flow. Our veins leak.

Thank you for stopping by Jacob.
In following our paths of life, we sometimes lose our "conscience" in order to achieve. We cannot always be pacifist, when faced with unrelenting antagonism.
A powerful poem that faces reality, without losing one's ideals.

Thank you for the insightful words Norman :)
I honestly don't follow everything in your poem, but after I read the reviews, I started to piece more of it together. The last 2 lines are crystal clear, tho, & stated powerfully! Brings to mind the many ways all things seem to point to pain or war or separation these days. Great image to go with these two awesome lines especially. I hate that violence has to be the solution to everything it seems. Thought-provoking & timely message!

Of course :)
The visual is too stunning. The poem successfully competes to beat it in its own visual experience

I like how the last two lines create a strong impact of what you conveyed. And the pic too. Penetrating write, Ana.

P.S why 51? I don't get the reference to it ... :|

the enigma of your minds journey comes to a sharp focus in your closing ... the tree of life has deep roots in Celtic lore (i have one tattooed on me belly) ;) so i listened to the music all the way through first ..i was expecting some kind of tree to arise from it all so was a little disappointed ;))
i think the pic of the pines is fantastic (would be a great tat) the walk through the mind in the first five lines covers a lot of ground well done ..being an introvert i enjoy introspection and your closing really hit my own conscience ... and saddens me ...so your poem is, for me, emotive as well ..a tragic age long conflict of spirit and body well said
