Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Ana B.

Strange sunrise nowadays

My fibbing eyes witness

The sweet intorsion of these rays

Had my humanity grimace.

And lying ‘’loves’’

Yanked my soul’s memory

As I follow the crumbs

To a falsified reverie…

Closer to death

With each spoon of broken glass

From Life’s alphabet

I must be reading the wrong paragraphs.

Strange how time can mold a mind…

Shaping a beautiful vessel;

Or a perception achingly blind…

                    After all, delight and spite

Need only one heart to nestle.

Aloha Ana, this is a beautiful smooth read with a hint of bitterness. The truth can become quite foggy over time and almost intangible. I love the last verse, gentle words that boom with truth. Mahalo nui for your words, it was pleasure to read. Izzy

I loved this stanza. It does seem like reading the wrong paragraphs of life. Interesting metaphor you used here.
Beautifully soft write. I liked reading this :)
