Repetition

Repetition

A Poem by Ana B.

Be still my brittle heart,

Caught up in the rhapsody of blue…

Unyielding… my fateful rampart

In this coda that’s so overdue.

And as the puckered clouds

Watch over me

They hastily take off their gowns -

The morsels of that ravaged ancestry…

And naked truths make themselves known

For those happy few…

Like a hot breath vibrating on my collarbone

Yanking my dissolute thoughts… yet here they regrew

Dreamers…they never learn…

Unyielding… my fateful rampart

'Dreamers…they never learn…'

Without dreams we never learn what might be, what WE might be, what hides unseen but would take us.. who knows. For me, your poem actually displays all that.. unless i've misinterpreted you yet again.. it's been known, Ana. Your writing is many layered.. that's your greatest skill.

'And naked truths make themselves known.. '

These lines are superb! I loved the overall flow of your poem..
I think if dreamers learned their lessons, they wouldn't be called dreamers anymore😉
Good work here!

You are welcome ☺
Dreamers never learn and that is why they are dreamers right. A quality some of us do not have because we are too rational.

Love it.

Thank you Philip :)
Dreamers never learn... I don't know whether I agree or disagree. Dreamers don't learn cause they have their minds made up, but then again dreamers can learn to dream a greater dream. Overall though I really like your work, and how I interpreted the last stanza was that only a few can live they're dreams, but only a few can remember. hence dreamers never learn.

Dreamers may never learn but apparently they write outstanding poetry, much enjoyed your melodic coda.
