Bed of tulips

Bed of tulips

A Poem by Ana B.
"

inspired by the amazing music of Agnes Obel

"

Gaze hovering over the drops

Stuck on the running cities’ windows…

With a heart that’s willing to stop

At the dawn that peacefully tiptoes

Haunting this island that I chose -

My incarnation of loneliness…

Aiding my soul that’s already morose

Perfect for every last one of us, utopians…

Yet, this wild velvet…

There’s something about its caress

Making feeble this revetment

And I’ve begun to obsess

Over caramel nights,

Over a piercing stare,

Over the silent replies

And midnight hands in my hair…

Yet who knows, maybe for a romantic heart

The silence is lying.

There is a mesmerizing yet very melancholic feel in it, seems like a heart is waiting for its beloved... Again I must say you have created an amazing imagery throughout the poem, with lots of thoughts roaming around the poem and expressing silence... Love you lovely work Ana...

Sincerely
Dhiman

Most welcome :)
maybe, but the silence is also for reflection and looking forward...and a bit of romanticism is a very good risk...
so good to read you again, Ana. this has lovely flow and feeling.
