Abandoned flakes

Abandoned flakes

A Poem by Ana B.

Didn’t have the heart

To stop the rain

That’s splitting apart

Placidity’s frame…

That rests on the table…

With photos in darkness…

The darkness that’s faithful

To the beautiful oddness

That adorns this succession

Of smoky evenings…

Wearing that same expression…

Rain sorting those feelings

That aren’t mine for keeping.

The font and the whole structure is very creative and nice. Adds on to the peaceful flow of the actual poem so I found that really nice. Overall this was a good piece

Thank you :)
Loved the adornment of rain & feelings (seasonal changes/vibrant heartbeats). Very thoughtful you're with words, your words're seemed very productive with excellence of insights ov'r "flakes" -- the heart quakes. Lol Nice imagery. Keep it up ;)

Always my pleasure Ana! ~SP
Feelings are always connected to something else and so, when that something else has gone (a love gone sour, death, separation, etc...) a part of those feelings go with it, and never really fully belong to us any more...still, it doesn't mean we cannot cry over the remnants...this takes me to a familiar place...thanks for sharing, Ana

Thank you sweet Julie :)
I wonder what the last line means? I like the poem, it's got a numb and dark feel to it. The poem flows, which is what I like most. Great work!

Thank you Pushkar :)
This has nice rhythm, Ana B. It varies a little by line 11, but I don't think it detracts from your poem, too much. The mood comes through - a kind of stoicism, and acceptance; a letting go; a freeing up of oneself... Sometimes there is just no other way.

I like this.
