Afternoon

Afternoon

A Poem by Ana B.

You can have those mountains I gathered

On your doorstep, they’re all yours…

Because now my heart is flattered

And dreamy like Sting’s ‘’Desert Rose’’

A silent here, a noisy there

To melt the fortress around my heart

That compelling music sounding somewhere

Where this strange storm cannot wait to start…

So come sit here with me,

And guess the color of the rain

One hand resting on my knee

The other stroking my hair…again and again…

Sweet desert rose,
This memory of hidden hearts and souls;
This desert flower,
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of love. - Sting

Ahhh, Ana 🥀

So beautifully your poetic voice speaks the raptures of love's romantic whisper; the message of those seeking to lay their heart at the foot of kismet's sensual eternity of romantic dreamscapes.
In gorgeous Unmetered Quatrains, you've somehow managed to create an original ethereally rhythmic realm, built line upon line in spiritually flowing feelings, emotions, imagery, and bliss-filled heart thrums, seemingly, above and beyond what words should be able to convey.
In pristine rhythm, beat, diction, and poetic voice … your poem radiates the captivating prosody of composing that turns words into the incomparable sensations of love poetry.

When combined with your spellbinding choice of artwork and music, how can one help but drift away into your world … love the mystery of your title, too.
Scintillatingly irresistible, Ana ⁓ Richard 🍂

I really did just gaps at those words! For me, the very thought of answering that guess would be like discovering how the world was made, what makes it continue its eternal movement. Extreme maybe but.. how I felt it.

You write so beautifully, Ana.. you not only look AT everything but INTO everything.

gorgeous as always Ana, a three stanza dream, the dream to sit in the peace of afternoon that music drifting in from another room sweeps across lovers gazing from a window into the mists of hazy rain, light but storm laden to rest his hand upon your knee, seductive and gentle and stroke beautiful hair again and again, a wonderful dream of love created by a wonderful poet :)
