Silence

Between the whispers of the rain drops

And the howling of the wind

Between the echoes of the rocks

The smoky veil has thinned…

 

Unbroken and wise, the silence speaks

With a heartfelt voice

Of the dried tears on the cheeks

And of wars that make no noise…

 

Of the gloomy thoughts on a Tuesday afternoon

And their ramifications…

Of the happiness that’s so hard to resume

Because of the haunting perfections…

 

Of the life that slips away

Without sense and trace…

Of the hearts we keep in disarray

In the silence’s embrace…

There is a measured rhythm to the silence found within and the tones with which we whisper of the thoughts shared to stars beyond fingertips reach. Sometimes we find answers to unasked heartbeats and others we already KNOW what we didn't ever need to ask afterall... and in the afters sometimes silence is so loud even tears shatter before they fall.
