The river of fear

The river of fear

A Poem by Ana B.

The river knows what I want to say

Singing his long history everyday…

Just like us. It has its number of drops

Feels like it flows forever…then one day it stops…

Why am I here?

So I could wither and fear?

This eternal spring which never stops flowing…

Yet the fear ends where it begins the knowing

Soon I will ascend my soul…when my eyes will close

And it will step up, where the river mysteriously flows

Maybe I came here to learn some things…

Or maybe I’m teaching someone…unknowingly it seems…

Maybe I’m showing things through my pair of eyes

Cause there are so many ways to find where the truth lies…

So who am I - apprentice or master

Collecting the seeds of the beauty and of the disaster…

My ultimate purpose…if only I knew…

But sooner or later all of us do

Trembling in fear … wishing we knew…

Trembling again…when we do.

Thank you Nina! :)
I'm really digging that last stanza. It has such a crushing weight to it. The double use of "trembling" nails the door shut on this work. I also like how in five stanzas you use the third and middle stanza to make a transition in your rhymes. They appear to be half-rhymes. Intentional? Just say yes on that one. All in all I think you blended a philosophical narrative with some natural themes rather well. I liked it. CD

You're always welcome .
Your flow is beautiful though I disagree on your fear factor but your concept is correct we are brought into each others lives for a reason cause I believe there are no accidents in life.We may write many words and endless poems and stories and may only be intended for just one person to read those particular words I just follow God's leading myself.Fear not what man can do but only God respect his awesome power

The questions of living are answered by finding the final place to rest. Thank you dear Ana for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you for the insight Emily :)
This made me think to the river image in Herman Hesse's book Siddhartha, which speaks of the river as connectedness. Here I feel touches of that, but you expand further to make it more interesting and mysterious—how we have an ending like the river, but we don't know where ours will be.

Also adore these lines:
"So who am I - apprentice or master
Collecting the seeds of the beauty and of the disaster…"

Powerful meaning and powerful sound, keep it up!
