Night pacts

I made a deal with the Stars

So that they would take over my dreams.

These dreams that we have are ours…

Yet the universe is wishing with us - by all means…

 

I made a deal with the Moon

So that she would watch over my slumber

Cause all of my efforts in trying to attune

To you succeed when my worries are younger

 

I made a deal with the dark sky

So I could always see the stars

And so I could never misapply

The dark heart of a storm to the soft sunrise…

Beautiful poem, I really love the personification of the stars in particular. Any deals with the universe/moon/stars are bountifully poetic. What better muse than the night? I think you might enjoy my poem RAINBOWS, the last stanza anyway - Night Pacts feels like a more personal take on a similar theme.
