a (not so ) little experiment

 Reign of fire

                                                 

 

In this ‘’once upon a time’’ in the seventh kingdom

In the land of wicked fairies and sorcerers wisdom

There was a castle with a tremendous tower

Serving as an earnest to the greatest power…

 

At the top of this high spire

In the deepest heart of fire

There was a princess held captive,

Her spirit light, her purity attractive…

 

She was taken by the Wyvern of the Dominion

Her standing ward …his patrol expedient

For countless years…

Knowing hateful fears…

Lands away, in another kingdom… the fifth one

The Dark Prince was preparing for the hunt

For he will never rest

Until the too grand tower he will conquest

Until the princess will be free,

For another future he will not see.

 

And so he closes in, to the Black Diamond mountain…

The beginning of the battle his for the biding

Yet the Dragon never sleeps

Seeing the intruder and knowing what he seeks…

 

Iron and fire…metal and dust

Two forces …daring each other to combust

The Dragon’s breath is fatal and tragic

His only rival - the Dark Knight’s magic

A fortnight of war…this too long battle

The time being more than ample

For an endeavor

To end this fever…

 

Blood dripping from the blade

Ashes around…a non ending cascade…

The Wyvern not knowing surrender…

How could he, when he is the defender

 

For he is a protector, not the villain

While the Prince’s heart is bleak and pestilent

Wanting to proclaim the tower

As a supplement of his too great power

Her Dragon protection providing

 

For she knew the dark corners a power can hold

So she ran away and far from her home…

The Dark Prince destroyed her kingdom…the sixth one

Leaving her broken, afraid and alone.

 

For countless years

Knowing hateful fears

That he will come for her

And make her cry and suffer…

Now the battle is over

The sword has lowered

The Prince is defeated

The Fate is completed.

 

Peace has settled in the seventh land

For the happy Princess and her faithful friend.

His bravery will always inspire

The timeless Reign of Fire.

just great Ana, a truly terrific work of writing and I'm thinking that you could run this into a story, like link the poem to a novel, there is much interest these days in this kind of tale, I think you have the ability to become a writer of great books :)

I was surprised when I started to read, as this is quite a change from your usual writing. I have not been a big fan of fantasy for most of my life and then discovered Game of Thrones, and some of my friends on here.
I enjoyed this, and like how the dragon was not the villain for a change.
