Forgive My Lack of Faith

Forgive My Lack of Faith

A Poem by Moalix

I look but I don't want to see
the words I read all but killing me
Wishing I had never seen
I shut my eyes tight
and I don't know if I
can face you late tonight

I just wanted some reassurance
now I have broken confidence

How can you look me in the eyes
and say you love me
when you told her
that she is your fantasy?

I'm shattering inside
as I look in your eyes
and know I can't trust you again

I confess to you
what I have read
and the tears come to my eyes

You pull me close
and whisper in my ear,
"Love, those were all lies."

You tell me that you did it for us
to chase her away
and at my unbelieving look
you whisper that I'll believe it one day

and Baby,
I believe you.
I trust you.
I love you.
and I know now how very much you love me too.
