PerserverenceA Story by Matthew William MillerShort story inspired from quote by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
First here is the quote:
Perseverance is a great element of success. If you only knock long enough and loud enough at the gate, you are sure to wake up somebody.-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and here is my writing: I've haven't started at the Top and at times life has looked grim but through all my struggles I have stayed on my path. From faint taps at the door my knuckle has grown strong and hardened through pain. The taps become knocks as my confidence grows, the power, the technique, the tempo, it all improves. Here I stand now pounding with thunderous blows, as my future awakes, my anticipation grows. Through perseverance the handle has turned, as the door creaks open and light shines through. Alas my celebration is short lived for behind the door lies another massive in size. To my surprise an eagerness flows within. For I know what I can accomplish, I know that I can improve. I welcome my new challenge pounding harder then ever. For my taste of success has led to an appetite for more. For struggles have become obstacles no more, only opportunity, only a key to open my next door. © 2014 Matthew William MillerAuthor's Note
