Being black is not that hardA Poem by Servant
Being black is not all that bad. Yes we have occasional suspicious stares everytime I'm in the mall. I just thought it was because of our hot bodies
We are always asked if we can afford certain things, when the pretty white lady is behind the counter. We are treated like thieves and nannies in the park. But I never thought being black was all that bad. Yes universities only considers me after all the white people who applied are accepted. My black skin does not deserve the same education as a lighter skin. My opinion doesn't matter really in a board meeting. Instead of recognition I get cute smiles. In McDonalds, my siblings are not allowed to play too close to the other kids Why? Might paint them black I suppose I really do think being black is not that hard you have to work and be qualified a thousand times harder and more just to be considered for the same position as a white person with just a grade 9 certificate The quality of our education still after 20 is 159% lower than whites, Will we can say they had a good head start. I only get served after all the white have been served in some restaurants, even black waiters do this But what is life without challenge right Gettin called a kaffir hurts But what does the word even mean? But hey. It's life right. According to the humans of this world we are like baboons, or monkeys, Well... " evolution" says humans descended from apes So when I get called a monkey I don't mind that much I do go home with a broken hurt and a sense of madness But hey Being black is not all that bad © 2016 ServantAuthor's Note
