Useless

Useless

A Poem by Maxwell Kelly
"

A poem about some of my spiritual struggles

"
O, why have you created me
Like you've forbidden me to be?
And make me choose eternity,
Or lifelong peace and love?

But what is life worth living for
If I have never kissed before
And maybe never'l have done, for
Your law-book would be damning me.

If You'll smite me, do it now,
Quickly, like an Angus cow.
I am not useful to you now,
Because of things ignored in me.

I am cognizant of that
Very, quite self-proving fact
That yours is the only pact
Which lets me live eternally.

I know I'm only here because
You fashioned Adam from the dust.
But I can't help from feeling just
I that I dare to disagree.

Please make use of my short life,
To help ease the hate and strife
'Tween those who say, "only one wife!"
And those who say, "love's love!"

There is not much security
For those who also think like me.
Everyone thinks that we're wrong.
When they've not thought and listened.
