LIGHT

LIGHT

A Poem by Yarelis Vidal
"

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. JOHN 14:6

"
I have realized that I know nothing
Far less than what I thought
For thinking I knew everything
Judgment is what I brought

Lord I became a fool
I lost more than what I wanted
I felt the wieght on me, and so I yelled what do you want from me
The Lord responded: be more open hearted

It is pure ignorance to know the Lord
And still live a life of disgrace
We should be disgusted with ourselves
Bringing shame upon his Grace

I see the nights I cried to the Lord
Why am I still sick? I feel rejected
But the Lord's wisdom is beyond our galaxy
For in weakness his power is perfected

As Jesus, I asked "Lord why have you forsaken me"
But yet I was blinded and saw no sin
I brought clamity upon myself
So it is I who had forsaken him

It was I who turned off that pathway flashlight
The Lord gave me as his word
And decided it wasnt bright enough that I may see
I felt it was to heavy for me to hold

You see the walk to God was never meant to be steady
Expect bumps down the road but hold tight to that light
Noone said that the flashlight wouldnt be heavy
But it was meant to give us sight

Some of us just choose to walk in the darkness
Jesus is our bright morning star, did we forget?
We choose darkness so we wouldnt have to hold responsibility
But blindly we caused more stress

You would never walk in a pitch black room with the lights off
And so in comparison we cant walk through life's troubles without our Christ
For he is our guidance, our love perfected
He is our only pathway to the LIGHT
