Child at heart

Child at heart

A Poem by Allyson
"

Tells men that we are strong.

"
I am only a child, yet a woman
I hear my heart yell louder than the voice
in my head
I see the world through innocent eyes
I feel the pain bestowed upon those the world deems inadequate
I touch each lifeless being with questioning eyes
I am only a child, yet a woman

I wonder why we mutilate each others souls, minds, hearts, and characters
I wish to teach all to love, understand and compromise
I hope for patience for things I do not understand and can not control
I believe we will learn to lean not on our own understanding
I am only a child, yet a woman

I say what I think you want me to
I dream of finding one true passion and one true love
I pretend to hate you because you are not accepted by my friends
I understand that tomorrow is not promised us; life is only a short gift
I am only a child, yet a woman
