Soldier's Song

Soldier's Song

A Poem by Mizar

Dew soaked leaves
tangled in your hair.
Moss sweet bed
to lie without a care.
Wait for me here, my sweet,
wait for me here.

River of mirror stones
laughs its mirth for you.
Birds, in the trees,
chime a note or two.
Wait for me here, my sweet
Wait for me here

I’ll be coming, coming,
coming back for you.
I’ll make you a bed,
big enough for two.
Wait for a while, love
Wait, I’ll be back soon.

See here, this sword
I brought it back for you.
From war, and now
It served its master true.
And now I’ll be coming, love
coming home to you.

I’ll be coming, coming
coming back to you.
I’ll make you a bed
of mossy earth for two.
Wait for a while, love
Wait, soon I’ll be with you.
