Trudy McGee

Trudy McGee

A Poem by Mizar

There once was a girl

named Trudy McGee

Who burst into tears

the day she turned three

She cried because

the cake wasn't blue,

She cried because

It fell on her shoes

She cried because

her hat wouldn't sit right

She cried because

her dress was too tight

And on top of it all

They all sang off key

and she cried and she cried

that Trudy McGee.

She screamed and she wailed

and stomped to her room

She locked her door

and sealed her doom

A flow of tears

that couldn't be stopped

With a scream that would

make your ears go pop

Til up from the floor

a salty sea rose

Sweeping away

all ribbons and bows

Until it swallowed

that screaming child of three

And in her own tears

drowned Trudy McGee.

Ha, ha, ha. I loved this. It very Dr. Zuesslike. This is just the kind of thing I might write myself. The rhyming scheme is wonderful. Can't say enough about your lighthearted approach. People are so serious here. Good one.
