Do You Like Me?

Do You Like Me?

A Poem by Yellow Wax Wings
"

A poem about being oblivious to how people feel about me

"
If I didn't know any better,
I'd think that you like me.
That maybe your hand on my leg
as we drive around in my car
is more than just a comfy way to sit.
That your arm around my waist
as we walk around in public
is more than just a way to keep the creeps away.
That the kiss you give me
as you walk out the door
is more than just a cute way to say goodbye.
I'm sure that you like me,
but is it as more than just a friend?

Yes sometimes it can be a little hard to tell, especially if you happen to have a more affectionate friend. To me, it certainly sounds like they do indeed like you as more than a friend, but it's easy to say that from way over here. I know from experience that when you have the full context and are in the middle of the situation, it's not always as easy to tell. It's one of the many mysteries of the world trying to figure stuff like this out.
