Hate

I hate weakness, and yet I am weak.

I hate fear, and yet I am afraid.

I hate doubt, and yet I am uncertain.

I hate loneliness, and yet I am alone.

I hate silence, and yet I do not speak.

I hate inadequacy, and yet I am insufficient.

 

I am everything that I hate

Is it any wonder, then, that I also hate myself?

I believe that everyone has times in life similar to this, where hatred is prevalent within; whether they would like to admit it or not. I think that hatred of the world and hatred of people, places, and things; all start with the hatred for one's self. If one hates themselves; they will hate the entire world. I think it all starts from within; hence the way the poem is concluded. Just my own thoughts. I cannot speak for the thoughts of others. Thank you for sharing this, Miuverthon. It got me thinking.

Thank you. I'll admit, I wasn't sure about posting this one. I've always been self conscious about my darker poems. Thank you for your thoughts!

[I am that I am]

I think it's great. It is a real expression and there's nothing wrong with showing what you think at any given time. We are constantly changing with our emotions and thoughts; and expressing them is healthy. I find that coming to terms with one's self in every moment is better than trying to hide the things about yourself that you don't wish to see. There is a doorway to much self discovery and peace with the openness to look at what's within; and laying out thoughts so that you can review them only helps one to understand their self better.
