The Other child

The Other child

A Poem by Dark Lady Phoenix

I was the one you hand picked.

The one you said you want.

Until I was eight.

And I became second rate.

Your real child was born

And I became something of scorn.

I was never good enough.

I always was in the wrong.

But your lack of love has made me strong.

Now with a child of my own that you show the same descent.

I try to live with out to much resent.

Deep in your heart I know some where you love me.

And you really don't think that your all that above me.

I will always be that adopted child.

Second rate to my little brother.

Everyone in town saw what you had done.

How you forgot your Daughter and loved your son.

I keep hoping for a day you will really care.

And you will love this child with out compare.
