A Chapter by Nykol

“Hello? You okay Phen? ” a person asked.

I sat up shaking my head thinking, I have heard this voice before? I looked up and remembered who it was. It was my best friend, Mark. How could I forget that?

“W.. W.. What happened?” I said with a sudden headache pounding my head like bells going off to signal a fire.

Mark looked at me with sadness and didn't respond.

I asked him again, “What is going on, why am I in a hospital?’.

A tear fell from his face and he ran to hug me.

“I thought I almost lost you,” Mark said shaking.

“Lost me? How?” I said worried of what he would say.

“You.. you and your parents were driving down the road and someone ran into you and you fell off a cliff. Your parents didn't make it. I thought you might not make it to,” he said hugging me tighter and tighter.

I started to feel sick, “How can I not remember this.”

I started to come back to my senses. “How long have I been here?”

“About 2 weeks, you have been unconscious this entire time,” Mark said. “You should go back to sleep Phen.”

“Yeah you’re probably right Mark,” I said starting to feel dozy. I laid on the pillow that was provided to me from the hospital and fell asleep instantly.

Your main problem from my point of view is that to many sentences start with the letter I. Such as "I looked up and remembered who it was" It could say. Looking up as I remembered who's voice it was. Little changes will help you avoid over using the same word to often.
