Love and not Animosity

Love and not Animosity

A Poem by Misty.C
"

A poem of prevalence.

"
I try to breath deeply.
Smile through my pain.
Wrap my own arms around me.
Hide my cracks in vain.
Because no one wants a broken toy.
You always put it back.
Because no one wants to play with fire.
It always burns you on contact.

Life's a game to many.
They use you.
Abuse you.
And only rarely reuse you.

They think only about convenience.
They forget about the sadness.
All the broken hearts they left behind in their malicious madness.

But wait- that's not how life should be.
That's a quotation from the fallen and the beat.
I have not lost. One can never fail.
Failure only comes from those-
who choose not to prevail.

When people spread animosity.
I beg you to spread love.
Fighting fire with fire never ends with love.
This world is filled with hatred. Wars fought with sweat and blood.
But if you do one good thing today- remember to spread love.

Author's Note

Misty.C
I wrote this today. 11/22/15
I didn't really edit it much. The transitions are lacking but the meaning is still there.
Not entirely what I wanted. Regardless- I hope who ever bothers to read it, enjoys it.
