At First A Friend, A Lesson in the end.

At First A Friend, A Lesson in the end.

A Poem by Misty.C
"

This poem is about bullying, I've never truly experienced any severe type of this, but my heart goes out out all of those who have.

"
It scars me to the bone, the gritting of my teeth
I press down on my pencil and try not to speak
but its like it doesn't matter, you linger all around
a paper ball hits my head, then falls to the ground,

I slowly pick it up, unsure of what to do
they look at me with expecting eyes
but all I see is you.

I uncrumple the piece of paper
and written there in blue
is the three little words
I- Hate-You

The tears sting my eyes,
I just want to disappear
To evaporate from this world
and form one far away from here

Remember when you stood up for me?
When I was not alone...
But you didn't want to stick out,
So now you stand across the room.

Do you enjoy laughing at me?
Calling me mean names?
When all I ever wanted...
Was just to be your friend.

I guess I shouldn't have been hopeful,
When all good things, seem to end.
I'll have to stand alone, until I find a TRUE friend.

Author's Note

Misty.C
I've always been against bullying, so I've tried writing a poem about the topic, I'm not sure how many people this has happened to but, getting betrayed by someone you thought was your friend can be painful. Just remember that sometimes things are learned the hard way and to always keep your chin up.

Great job with this poem! It's pretty straightforward, but your point is exemplified really easily. It's powerful, has a lot of meaning, and can be related to by many people. It's awesome!

Aww. I can some sort of relate to this. :( Sometimes it is only you who'll be your companion 'till the end. Thumbs up Misty! Keep the good work. :)

Honestly Children can be crueler than some adults. Our whole image of innocence "A child" Has futuristically been transformed into something rather..revolting. Perhaps it can be blamed on the endless media or technology access we have today in many countries.

Children are yet learning not to be sociopaths. The whole lot of them. I never really experienced bullying either, but man would it be hard to go through that sort of thing alone.
